In life we all break at some point or other. When broken, most give up and breakdown, some persevere and breakthrough”. When Jerry reached out to feature me in his book Karishma – the miracle, this one line in his email inspired me and touched my core. When I watched the videos of the talks at REX by people who like me refuse to breakdown and persist to breakthrough, I saw reflections of my life in their life stories. The REX talks enriched my learning further, about the power of the human spirit and have stirred me to keep working and doing more until my last breath. –

Our character and potential is tested not just when life gives us our best moments, but more so when life gives us our worst

In life at some point or more, we all break. When broken, most GiveUp and BreakDown, few persevere to BreakThrough, That is our miracle within. Karishma- The Miracle within is a book with powerful life and leadership lessons and is brought to life through the inspirational oratory program “The Magnificent 7”, which has inspired millions of people in corporate annual gathering and public events the world over. The life lessons include all of the moJOsh Inspirator values and explains the importance of adversity , hardships and suffering in our lives. The idea is not to have a victim mindset, no matter how broken we are but to unleash our unlimited heroic potential with a moJOsh Inspirator mindset. The book and talks have a special emphasis on the meaning and fulfillment of passion.

We must Learn from suffering and adversity! (Principle – Passion)- There is not a single person in the world, who is bereft of suffering and adversity. Each person has his share of suffering and pain and hence in a way we all break at some time and are broken people. When we break, most break-down, only some break- through. That is passion. Passion finds its origin in the Latin Word “Pati or Patere”, which means suffering. If we are not ready to suffer for someone or something, then we are not passionate about it. Hence, the saying “No Pain, No Gain”. If you are really passionate about your life, your work, your relationships, then you are ready to suffer and struggle to make them work and will go through the trysts of destiny and fate, to find a way and make things happen. Suffering and pain are essential in life and we as humans are gifted that even in our most depressing moments of life, we can become positive by simply thinking about the highest points in our life. Let’s try this! Please close our eyes and think of a high point in your life and you will notice your spirit soaring.

Watch the video and read the pworful story of the cocoon and the butterfly given below the video.

Strength from Adversity

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared, he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole.
Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther.
Then the man decided to help the butterfly, so he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.
The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.
Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It was never able to fly.
What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If God allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. And we could never fly.
